When we learn Christ, we imbibe more than words on a printed page; more than rules and lists whereby we know we did all the right things and checked all the right boxes. We take on a living, breathing relationship with a living, loving Lord. The Jesus we affirm in our songs and prayers. The Jesus with dusty feet from the shores of Galilee that still lives and intercedes for us.

having the mind of christ
What is it that you really, really want? This is the first question Jesus asks in the Gospel of John (Jn 1:38). To a man in need of sight, and to disciples who struggled with spiritual vision, Jesus asks “what is it that you want me to do for you?” To a man who lay sick, unaware of the power awaiting him, Jesus asks “Do you want to be made well?” Having the mind of Christ is wanting one thing. “Learning to love” is “learning Christ.” And for the believer, we are loving to learn; loving to grow; loving to be, and to become what Christ is forming us into.
